well, since you asked
First off, thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about me.
I was born right here in north Texas. Growing up in a blended family, my time with my parents was divided by spending summers in Seattle while attending school and spending the rest of the year in the Dallas area. While attending high school, I enjoyed dancing on the drill team and writing on the newspaper staff.
After high school, I headed to Lubbock for my Bachelors degree in Psychology with a minor in Human Development & Family Studies from Texas Tech University. Following graduation, a few unfulfilling years in the corporate world led me back to my original passion for mental health and helping others. I was extremely excited to be accepted to the prestigious Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at the University of North Texas, where I earned my Master’s degree.
I began my career in counseling as a Licensed Professional Counselor at the Lifeologie Institute in Dallas. In 2018, I decided to take the leap and open my own practice, The Clever Counselor.
My goal as a counselor is to create a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment in order to develop an open and collaborative relationship. By utilizing a multi-sensory approach, I provide support, guidance and accountability with kindness and humor.
I currently live in the Dallas area with my smart and supportive husband and my brilliant daughter. When I’m not in the office, my self care includes traveling, cooking, reading, and spoiling my three pampered kitties.
